Java3D developers interested in OS X should log in to the Apple Developer Connection and look around.
Apple’s usually NDA prevents me from saying anything more outside of their designated NDA’d forums.
Ok, i’ll say it, I’ve not even seen the NDA, let alone agreed to it :), there is an alpha of java3d for mac osx 10.3
There

Now I am confused. I tought Java3d isn’t being supported anymore by SUN?
Still Apple ports it to their nice Macos-X now…?
Furthermore, what’s this: on the goold old http://java.sun.com the second big paragraph named “October 28, 2003 - Core Java Tech Tips” you click the “Core Java Technologies Tech Tips” and voila: there’s a nice introduction to the Java3d API!
This all for a not further developed API? Whoops.
PS: I want an Apple now !

There was a thread a while back about it’s future, and the comment on that thread from sun was that it isn’t dead, they just not sure where it is going yet, they still plan on supporting it.

I already pointed this out.

Ok, now that Apple has made a public statement. It is great that Java3D and JAI developer previews exist. Even though Java3D isn’t changing much now, there is still a bunch of software out there that uses it - and now it works on the Mac.
This is all good. Remember that LWJGL, JOGL and Xith3D are already running to some extent on the Mac… so in general Java support on the Mac platform just keeps getting better.
Now I have to go find all those old LWJGL games that I couldn’t try before, and Java3D stuff… etc…
Do we have a list of these things in the Wiki yet? I mean a list of games that use each technology LWJGL, JOGL, Java3D, Zith3D, GAGE, etc.
I see.

I think I missed that. But then I miss so many articles on subscribed topics here in this forum because the e-mail notification just doesn’t work for me.
