Seems not to be the case - just calling update() regardless doesn’t help. That code used to look awfully like the Quake2 code I seem to recall so it must have gotten broken over time somewhere.

Well, as you might have guessed, the quake 2 way was not flexible enough for a general purpose library like LWJGL.
