Ludum dare is coming up quickly!
The competition starts August 26th-29th.
This is for discussing the competition and theme, progress, and posting finished games. As well as updates and general information about the event.
Might spend a few hours making something for the warmup, just not sure what yet. For the competition itself, I’ll probably be going without base code this time since I never used enough to matter anyway. Anyone else use base code?
Oh yea, like 60% of the code for all my games is the same.
No need to program the main menu, loading screen, puase mute buttons, some level code

Mhm. The point is to use any code you would have used anyway to start a game so you can spend your time working on your game rather than the generic stuff. I usually start with some basics I’ve written like map code and map editor, animation code, etc.
I’m considering using it for LD, but I’d rather it have pretty things like lighting and particles already included.
I guess those could go into my base code.
I’m in, this time with a lot more experience. Probably gonna use OGL or jMonkeyEngine.
I should probably say I’m in! My friend and I are going to have a sleep-over (you can never grow out of sleepovers), order a pizza, and pull an all-nighter.
I’m gonna use LibGDX, and I guess it’ll be inevitably 2D, also.
