Just wanted to point out that Ludum Dare 13 (48 hour compo) is this weekend (December 5th-7th):

Woot, I’m definitely doing it. =D
excited
Yeah, I’m in
Man my life lately is like one constant barrage of programming contests. I’ve got Retro Remakes finishing on Saturday and the 4k competition already started and now the Ludum Dare as well!
Oh boy.
[EDIT] While I’m here… I notice that in submission guidelines it says you have to submit a zip file. Is there any way you can bypass this and just do it with Java Webstart / applet? [/EDIT]
They’re not particularly strict with the submission rules. I usually provide a webstart link (plus a zip of the project source + data if anyones wants to look around) and no-one’s complained yet.
I think when you’ve got a couple dozen entries, there’s a general sense that you know a cheater when you see one. I wouldn’t worry too much about the specific rules as long as you follow the spirit of the competition.
I’d suspect you’re even better off with a web link rather than an .exe or something like that, I know those are the entries I’m the most likely to check out…
Well, that didn’t go too well. I spent a lot of time trying to get various 2d physics libraries to work, then gave up when I saw other people had had the same idea as me.

Here’s what I managed to do.

Is that in Java 6? Can you possibly compile for Java 5? :’(
