Looking for starting place

Thanks to all for answering all of my other 3d newbie questions.

I have aquired (sp?) the tools nessesary to create a 3d game in java. My goal is to create a simple 1st person shooter. I have created by graphics and am now ready to start programming.

The problem is, I can’t find any beginner tutorials. I need to learn how to take my 3d studio creations and move them within a 3d world. Can someone please point me to a beginners tutorial?

Much thanks

Thanks for the links. I followed all of them but those are just a few peices of the puzzle. I am looking for something that will teach me the complete concept of java game design, from importing graphics, moving them in 3d space, and collision detection.

Does such a tutorial exist (published or on the net)?
or do I have to peice it together?

If I want a complete tutorial, do you suggest I bite the bullet, learn C++ and go from there?

I think you have to piece it together. But, hey you have forums like this to help you on the way.

I am not able to suggest that. I like Java too much.
