I want to create (among other things) a program that overlays a movie on top of an animated 3D figure. Can I load individual frames from an MPEG movie into separate BufferedImages?
hmm, I remember a post in the shared code forum that loads all sorts of formats and maps them on a quad

There is also a NeHe tutorial about loading frames from an AVI format: http://nehe.gamedev.net/lesson.asp?index=07
I have great interest in that matter as well so please let me know when you made some advances…

Thanks for the advice… Actually it’s for my local high school’s track and field team, so that they can take a real movie of one of our runners, jumpers etc. and see how the video lines up with a 3D figure whose movements are mathematically perfect.
