Just a random idea…
I’m sure this has been brought up before, it’s a common system on most websites.
What if we could “like” a post and then sort the posts in the thread by likes? (or maybe call it “Agree” or “Disagree”).
Many of the question topics have multiple answers and it would be easier and nicer to agree or disagree to a post then to reply to it saying “yeah this guy!”
Maybe this could be an additional option when you post a new topic? Q&A mode?

Java-Gaming had a karma system a while back I believe, but people kept abusing it, so now we only have medals.
Still pretty cool, though.
It is like asking Facebook system over Google+ system. Never happen.
If you really like a post … reply to it.
That only works if you have a tree-like view to mitigate some of the confusion which reordering posts would generate.

Why? Hit “Appreciate” instead. That’s more visible in that it puts an icon directly on the post, and doesn’t reduce the signal to noise ratio.
