I think about a new monitor, so what do you know about Fujitsu siemens? And what about BenQ?
Any experience?
Any LCD I’ve tried was a complete disappointment, so try to stay away from them (unless your quality expectations are low or your budget very high). I would wait for better models to appear before investing on an LCD. I actually got myself yet another CRT, just a couple of months ago.
Also, check this out: Samsung Vixlim
I have one simple rule when purchasing display devices: buy Iiyama.
I have a Samsung SyncMaster 193P at work.
I’m pretty impressed with it, bit pricy last time I looked though.

Ach, it’s simple: buy 17" IIyama E43* monitors. Current cost? < £200. Quality? Among the best I’ve ever seen. We have 5 of them here (partly because everyone likes to have at least two :P) and they’re all great, except that some had problems on the Mac Mini - which I believe has more to do with the fact that the mini has crap graphics hardware or driver (it does weird thigns with any monitor you plug in, but one of the iiyama models it consistently does horrid things).
I’m using one on DVI, the other on Analog, and both are v. sharp @ 1280x1024.

it seems like czech guys know how to present products.
;D ;D
Bought a T903 19" BenQ TFT around 6 months ago.
I think it was the 2nd cheapest on the market at the time.
It failed within the 1st 2 weeks (it lost horizontal sync somehow :S).
I contacted BenQ’s customer service dept. and they dispatched a replacement immediately, got to me within 3 days.
The replacement has been great, can’t realy fault BenQ on their follow-up care.
I’m going to be getting a 2nd one soon, so I can finally be finished with horrible CRTs.
On a larger scale, roughly half our TFTs at work are BenQ, and we have had only a single failure (screen gained a pink tint, technical term: gaydar ;D).
Again, BenQ was prompt with the replacement.
So to summarise, BenQ are cheap but not shit!
Don’t have any experience with other manufacturers though, so my opinion is a little 1 sided
EDIT( Samsung SyncMaster 913N)
Is one of the fastets TFT screens on the market. Its based on a 8 ms TN frame. Its very good at gaming but not so good at movies and some report problems with black letters on a white background. But that may be to their gfx card. The Samsung DVi model has just appeared at the market and is a bit more pricy than the VGA model.
The BenQ is also an exellent choice also good for gaming
Here are two more TFTS that are okay for games and okay for movies and have a decent price.
LG L1915S 75HZ 12 ms
Philips 190S5FS 75HZ 12ms
Try the Samsung SyncMaster 915n. 19" LCD, 8ms response rate, 700:1 contrast ratio. List price is $350. Can be found for around $320 online. AMAZING monitor for the price.

I bought my second 19" TFT a few days ago, went for BenQ again - hoping to get a similar display quality.
Made abit of a booboo, and got a FP937s.
According to the specs. its a 12ms response time, though I have seen many places on the net quoting it as 8ms.
Anyhow, i’m abit disappointed - the picture quality is nowhere near as clean as my T903 =(
Color balance is also quite abit different.
Ah well, we live and learn - next time I will buy both together, to make sure I get matching models =)
Note that there is model 937s+ with 8ms and 24 bit interface.
It’s slightly more expensive.
