Last 10 Messages Malfunction

I kept suspecting that something was up… I thought I was losing my mind… but it’s true! The forum software is out to get me!

check this out:
http://www.stardart.net/recent.htm
Notice how it has the most recent post from
http://www.stardart.net/thread.htm
but not the one before that.

It would also be nice if:

  1. The name of the thread was not white text on a white background in the 10 Most Recent Messages and
  2. If you read the message in the 10 Most Recent Messages it would show up as having been read in the regular forum view (priority on #1)

I think what we’ve got is the “Most recent post from the 10 most recently active threads”

yep - something is wrong…
and it seems to be exactly what you described…

btw - would love a “Messages the last 24 hours” instead of the current ‘recent’ - which btw should be last 25 or 50 - not just 10…

IMO

How about a “Messages since I last checked in”? or “All Messages I Haven’t read”? That would be a treat!

Well, I just found out that there is no problem with Mozilla 1.1 which displays the name correctly, but it seems like M$-IE will still display white on white.

The problem is probably here. First a text class is defined with font color white:
.text1 { font-style: normal; font-weight: bold; font-size: 12px; color: #FFFFFF; }

Then later that class is used to display the topic line in 10 most recent, and the color is changed in that line. But it seems like IE uses the original definition and Mozilla uses the new color value. Is there any need to define color #FFFFFF in the .text1 class at all? I think it could be simply removed. Or is white text anywhere used in the forum?

In Opera 6.5 the thread names don’t show up right (and the table borders are a bit screwy). In Netscape 7, you can see the thread names but the table that quotes appear in is a bit off
