We are currently beta testing our game. We need more testers. Check out our game at www.abandonedcastle.com.
This is a major title and is not your typical java applet game. Let us know what you think.

This happens when I try to signup:
This Page has not yet been added to the Kingdoms of War site! The URL: /404.shtml had problems.
Saw no hints on Java on the page. Is it a Java game at all?
The client is created in java. Its a downloaded applications. Since we are in beta we make beta testers send in their beta applications by filling out the form at www.abandonedcastle.com/beta.html and emailing it to us. Then if your system meets your min requirements we put you in a kingdom with 20 other players for the testing.
The client is 99.9% java with some c++ code. The reason its not cross platform at this time is because it uses the latest java technologies and as most people are aware these technologies are not supported on the mac and linux to the same degree they are windows. We are hoping that these os catch up soon. The other reason is that we have a rather unique protection for our java code built into our .exe so this would have to be created on each platform we release on.
As far as the system requirements:
p2 400mhz
128mb ram
at least 8mb video card, 16mb or higher recommended
win98 or later
This is listed on the download page but probably should be listed on the beta sign-up as well.
Also it comes with the latest j2re1.4.1_01 release. since most people who play the game are not developers we include it in all downloads to avoid confusion. It doesn’t have to be reinstalled if you currently have this jre on your system
You have may application in your inbox . Need to see the client…

Hopefully one Java killerapplication is to come to make sure that Java is already installed on clients for people at home. MANY people I ask to check out some things for testing have do d’load that JRE… its really not well distributed nowadays.
nice looking site, hope everything goes well
