KDoom - Game Engine/Doom Clone I'm working on

Hello People!

Recently I’ve been modding and mapping for Doom a lot, so I figured, “Why not make this in Java?”, so this project started:

The game itself is based off of an old engine I started making a long while back. It’s been a great learning project to understand how raycasting engine and PBP engines work, and how everything is built in a pseudo-3D Engine.

Feel free to leave any thoughts or suggestions, I appreciate them all :smiley:

Here’s all of the things I’ve added so far:

  • A HUD, Title Screen, ETC.
  • 3 Weapons: The fist, the shotgun, and the pistol.
  • 2 Mobs: The Imp and the Zombieman

Looks great ;D. will the controls be like the original doom or will it be more modernized?

I will be adding mouse support here soon, so you can look around with that (obviously not on the y axis, as it’s a pseudo3D engine), and the controls are already WASD.

I will of course be adding the old controls too, :wink:

Cool Doom remake looks pretty good. Why is your rank “JGO Dishonorable” ?

Was going to say that it looks like Doom :stuck_out_tongue: Not much of a 3D perspective game maker myself, but the progress sure looks promising. Just don’t put too much nazis in there ok?
