The Video looks really good! Congrats.
I only really don’t like the music :-\

I only really don’t like the music

Good thing you can mute it in game  Thanks for the feedback!

Looks really polished! How many ppl are you and what do you use for networking?

looks really nice and like a cool idea.
the terrain highlighted by the green border looks like it could benefit from a little texture to fit in better.

There’s not much players right now, we are around 4 or 5 online at peak time haha

Used own network code no library. This old project was done more or less the same way: https://github.com/WinterAlexander/Trapgame

Yes, proper ground texturing will be in our next update

Hello

Do you plan to use LibGDX PackR or something similar to package your game so that your end users don’t have to install a JRE?

Hey thanks for that link! We had the intention of doing that but didn’t look into it yet. I didn’t know about that lib, will surely use it!

Beautiful graphics and very smooth gameplay! You should be very proud! Great work!

Btw: the Contact button on your website is not working for me

Yes sorry about that hahaha you can contact us on twitter: https://twitter.com/jumpaigame and join our discord: https://discord.gg/dwRTNCG

Hi moderators, could my game be moved to featured?

wow that’s an amazing work  !

Thank you!

We just got an update! Come check it out!

I tried it out a few days ago and i’m very very impressed with your tech.
The game is smooth and the level editor and online features work great.

The gameplay is a bit finicky imho, i’m sure you’ll manage just fine because you have probably played countless hours in your game, but i found it too be highly frustrating. I slide off platforms very often because stopping takes very long. The same goes for accelerating, it’s all so slow and drawn out, requiring just the right amount of jump time and accelerating for every single jump, this might appeal to players who like memorizing the levels (like in geometry dash i guess) which is fine, but I would rather be able to stop, turn and jump quickly without all that buildup.

Also i don’t get the slow walking. Running is really fast but walking is painfully slow, the only times where walking was useful is when i would try jumping on small nearby ledges and mushrooms (which is a slow, error-prone and annoying process because of the low speed)

I don’t know if this feedback is useful, maybe i’m not your target audience, but i anyway, your game is executed so well but the parameters feel kinda off.

Side question: Do you have some simple NPCs planned, like the ones in Super Mario? The game feels a little liveless without them.

Sorry for the late response and thank you for your feedback!

The gameplay has been greatly inspired from the mario games. We tried to mix the physics of the the new mario games with the famously loved by speedrunners- Super Mario World. Input buffering has been added to the latest version, that should make it a bit less frustrating. We try to make easier levels for new players, trying to jump from 1 block wide platforms to 1 block wide platforms should be considered “hard”.

No there’s no real point to walking other than social interactions hahaha

We do not plan to add game objects that would cause a desync between what players see such as enemies or NPCs. Instead, we want to bring life to the game with a massive amount of players. We want it to be more MMO like and less Mario like.
