JOGL Problem!!!

Hello everyone!!!, I am new to JOGL & am having problems installing it(I really am dying to use it).

I wanted to try a few examples to test the installation, the first one used:

import net.java.games.jogl.*;

The program runs successfully but when any of these are imported in next examples:

import com.sun.opengl.util.Animator;
import javax.media.opengl.GL;
import javax.media.opengl.glu.GLU;

I get errors:
package com.sun.opengl.util does not exist
package javax.media.opengl does not exist
package javax.media.opengl.glu does not exist

What’s wrong, I followed the instructions on the site(put the dlls in D:\Java\jdk1.6.0_07\bin,

D:\Java\jdk1.6.0_07\jre\bin & jar in D:\Java\jdk1.6.0_07\lib\ext, D:\Java\jdk1.6.0_07\jre\lib\ext),

also setup the classpath to the 2 locations of the jar & path to the dlls’ locations, as I found

elsewhere. I searched almost 10 sites & did everything to install it. But it is just being a pain.

I run jdk1.6.0_07 on Windows XP SP3.

Could someone detail in steps what to do after installing my JDK & wat’s wrong with my installation.

Thanx!!!

You’re using an old version of JOGL, from before it was adopted by Sun. The examples which are giving you errors are probably intended to be used with JOGL 1.1.1a from https://jogl.dev.java.net/

Search the JOGL sub-forum here, it has a lot of information about people going through the same problems that you’ve had.

Yupp, I was using the older version. Thanx to both of you!!! 8)
