To be perfectly honest, I don’t know whether this is feasible either technically or security-wise, but to me it seems extraneous for a security popup to present itself when a JOGL applet is launched, given that Sun is willing to vouch for the JOGL code. What is the likelihood that this popup will disappear in a future version? Especially with the improved applet handling in the newer plugins, Java is looking good again for web game deployment, but to a lot of users even a single security box is a deal breaker, since even if it claims to be signed by Sun, many people have been burned so many times by drive by adware that they are going to be suspicious - even though I know that it would be tough to fake a certificate like that, the first time I saw the thing, my thought was “If Sun really signed this code, why would I need to give it permission at all?”.
