jogl and OpenGL 3

Hallo everybody!
i have an a question, about gl version using on jogl…

As all we know the specification of OpenGL 3.0 has come’d an 14-16 of august (sorry don’t have an fresh memory  ) and nVidia has make drivers for graphics cards…

and, is the new versions of jogl will be, with using OpenGL 3???

P.S. Sorry form my BAD english ::slight_smile:

lwjgl already has opengl3.0 support in their latest RC if i’m not mistaken.

Don’t know about jogl, but since the binding is generated I would expect a jogl release supporting the OGL 3 feature-set in the “not-so-distant” future.

Hi

I have created a modified JOGL that supports OpenGL 3.0.

The binaries (for 32-bit windows only) are here, and the source code is here.

To use it, you need to call setVersion(3, 0) on your GLCapabilities object before using it. I haven’t tested it much, but it does create an OpenGL 3.0 context.

elFarto, did you install new drivers, with opengl 3.0 driver for your’s hardware? (from site of nVidia you can download the new version ;))

thx for new build of jogl …will be try to use

Yes, I have the new drivers.

Hi,

Any official support planned for OpenGl 3.0 yet?

Hi! yes, but must wait some more time for gpu-provider make good drivers for gl3

hell32.dll asked a question about JOGL, not about LWJGL. I don’t understand why you speak about it here, we don’t mind if another binding already exposes OpenGL 3 API.

You’re such a JOGL advocate.

It seems logical that in response to “Does A do this?” you can say, “No, but B does.” Let him know the options, yes?

No. This is a thread about JOGL. If this person had asked if any other OpenGL binding does this, then it would have been logical to speak about the other binding that does this.

You’re one of the strangest people I’ve ever met on a forum. In fact I think you’re a Turing bot.
Joyeux Noel!

Cas

We? You!

You have to understand that not everybody is like you. You have been derailing so many threads with your whining.

Well, let’s turn to the original poster (hell32.dll), and ask whether he appreciates that he is now informed about LWJGL so that he can get started with OpenGL3, as opposed to be left in the dark - and stuck with JOGL, only due the fact that he posted this in the ‘wrong’ forum…

Lol. Do you know any Turing bot able to program a “piece of shit” like TUER?
Merry Christmas too!

Hm… a Turing programmer. Brain recursion error at line 0.
