Nightly Builds Available!

Thanks for all your patience with this. We realize this has been asked for since day 1.

Nightly builds are now available for the games-core projects. The binaries are available at:
https://games-binaries.dev.java.net/

Currently windows and linux are available for most games-core projects and we are working to get the other platforms up.

You may notice that all projects are listed as 1.1 beta. We haven’t been doing offical versions yet so we are proclaiming everything so far has been 1.0. We will bump to 1.1 once we have our release definitions and precedures posted.

Please let us know what you think of the games-binaried “project” and any changes you would like to see.

JOAL is now available for Windows, Linux and OS X!

Nightly builds are available for each of these platforms at https://games-binaries.dev.java.net/

In addition, the source code build.xml file has been updated to include default OpenAL location information for each of the supported platforms. If you’ve installed OpenAL in the default location on your machine, you should be able to simply call “ant” from the command line to build the project. The build will automatically detect if OpenAL is not installed in the default location and provide instructions on how to adjust the build file for your configuration.

If you have any issues with the nightly builds or building JOAL from CVS, please report them to:

A new JOAL release build, 1.1 beta 02, has been released on August 31, 2006 and is now available from the Documents and Files section of the JOAL home page. This is the same code and binaries released via Java Web Start yesterday. All of the recent changes were in the implementation; there were no public API changes. Most significantly the code now supports deployment of OpenAL alongside JOAL.

Please post if you have any problems with or comments on the new build.

JOAL 1.1 beta 03 has been released on September 5, 2006 and is available from the Documents and Files section of the JOAL home page. This build fixes the deployment problems seen with 1.1 beta 02 on Mac OS X. Please post if you have any problems with or comments on the new build.
