Ah! you mean 20 per window. I see. :).

/me has 15 per window (mozilla crashes with more), 4 windows per virtual desktop, 5 virtual desktops. And wonders why linux keeps running out of memory with 256Mb RAM?

Yes, “only” about 20. I tend to forget wich default icon belongs to wich site, therefore I start closing tabs I don’t need (that much) anymore. If there is something I would like to read when I got time, I just bookmark it… else ‘x’ :slight_smile:

I don’t have much ram to waste, therefore I have to watch ram consumption in order to avoid swapping.

However, we (jgo) need(s) a favicon badly. Sometimes I change my usual open pattern for some obscure reasons and then I’ve often to guess around until I’m finally back to jgo :slight_smile:

Oh… tabs have a tooltip (::))… however clicking an icon is much more efficient than “tooltipping” all tabs :wink:

What browser are you using? And what screen res?

Mozilla uses the page title as the text of each tab. So, all the JGO forums tabs have the text “Java Games Forums…” at the top. At 1400x1050 I can see about “Java Gam” with 20 tabs open. Perhaps retitling to “JGO: …” would also help? :slight_smile: To be honest, a title that starts “Java Games” anything is pretty unhelpful :slight_smile:

What browser are you using? And what screen res?

Firefox (doesnt matter) and 800x600. With 17 tabs the text next to the icon is just “…” and with 18 tabs there is only the icon.

Feel free to buy me a new monitor ;D

I too would like this simple feature implemented! I use Safari and Firefox and also often have 15+ tabs open.

I add my vote towards getting a favicon. They are fun and cool. Hurrah for fun and cool!

but will it ever happen? The favicon is a nice convenience and only requires the uploading of a single simple image file as posted by onyx. 1-2 minutes max.

I suppose we can only just keep asking.
