I’m Jeviny on IRC, for those of you wondering. I created the channel a few weeks ago but didn’t really get the time to post about it until now. Thanks Dren!

Also, I wouldn’t recommend using Webchat.
Here’s a little list of other IRC clients you can use:

  • Mibbit
  • IRSSI (This is what I use!)
  • HydraIRC
  • IRCCloud
  • KiwiIRC
  • Quassel
  • qwebirc
  • rIRC
  • XChat
  • HexChat

There are also many others you can choose from, here’s a full list of them.

There aren’t many rules for this channel. Just don’t be an ass and you’re fine by me.

We used to have a #jgo channel on Freenode, but it died very quickly as no one ever showed up :confused:

I really really dislike Espernet but if people are willing to show up this time… fine.

As for IRC client, I fully recommend Hexchat!

Joining right now. And HexChat is great, it’s what I used until I took it upon myself to write my own. It was fun!

I’m just going to assume you’re trying to imply that we haven’t chosen a server to do this on yet.

If that is what you’re trying to get at, we already chose Esper for this. I know, bad choice, but I would hate having to make people migrate over to something else again. :cranky:

The channel’s bot is also able to give you basic information about YouTube videos, SoundCloud uploads, and many other things once linked. You can also search for such things using it. ::slight_smile:

I plan on rewriting it sometime though, mainly to stop annoying stuff like this from happening over and over again:

So Jeviny’s friend created a plugin for the IRC channel that says in chat whenever there is a new post :stuck_out_tongue:

In case anyone wants to IRC, this is still an active channel that regulars about 10 people on at any one time.
This is a good place for asking small-ish questions so that the forums don’t get filled up.

Also Riven: any chance of the IRC being plugged at the top of the page?

I second this.

I’m glad this IRC channel actually became a thing. If it weren’t for me staying on there 24/7 I probably wouldn’t even continue to be on JGO.
