Im going through a video tutorial on making a simple 2D Game in Java. Im at the point where he want to JFrame but when i go to import it its not there in the list. is something extra i have to download. IM using eclipse as my editor.
ctr+shift+o should find it.
there is an error on the import line. it says Access Restriction. Im running windows vista if that has anything to do with it
import javax.swing.JFrame;
should be fine if it’s at the top of your file. I don’t know about Vista, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it did some crazy access restriction.
I fixed it kind of. i just changed the rules to ignore those errors.
What was the error message you are now ignoring?
The error i had to ignore is Forbidden Reference. Its must be a problem with Vista but im not sure
When in doubt, blame Vista ::).
I’m running Vista and I certainly don’t see any such problems, fwiw… in fact I’d be surprised if Vista had anything to do with it. I checked and my Eclipse is set up to give errors on forbidden references.
What JRE are you targetting?
I second that I find it very doubtful that Vista is to blame.
I had the same problem with Mandriva Linux
I don’t know why… It happened when I switched to Eclipse 3.5.
