Has anyone of you managed to get
the JCanyon webstart demo working?
I’m using JDK1.5.0 and it’s not working.
After the tremendous delay of showing
the JFileChooser dialog (known bug, I
suggest just using AWT’s FileDialog),
it says it’s unable to find the canyon
data jar file from the server after 100
tries.
Any ideas?

I just tried the download process on Mac OS X with JDK 1.4.2 and on Windows XP with JDK 1.5.0_02 and both work fine. What platform are you running on? Are you sure you’re running the most recent version of the jcanyon demo? Try clearing it out of your Java Web Start cache. Bug fixes have been posted for the demo within the past month or so, in particular on Mac OS X; that platform used to exhibit the behavior you’re reporting. Also make sure your proxy settings are correct in the Java control panel or Java Web Start preferences (depending on platform).
