Java on Playstation and Xbox

As to my current knowledge, there are hardly any efforts underway to get Java to work
on Playstation or Xbox. Correct me if I am wrong.

What I found was:
-mudGE: http://www.mudge.nl/java/ -> Seems only to implement text so far
-Kaffee: http://www.kaffe.org/ -> However is not 100% Java compatible
-other?

Otherwise, there seem to be some indication that it is possible to get Linux to work
on Xbox and Playstation. Java could be possibly run through Linux then? Playstation 2
and Xbox 1 have only 32MB of RAM installed, which doesn’t really make it feasible
to run Java. However with the upcomming Playstation 3 and Xbox 2, both 256MB
RAM, it shouldn’t be too hard to get Java up and running?

Anybody has any information on that?

In order to get a really functional Java running on any of the console’s there would need to be some support from the console maker. There was some news back in 2001 that Sony would get java on the ps2, but it never happened.

sigh

If only.

Will.
