Voters are rather pessimistic.
From what the second poster said, JavaFX sounds pretty bad.
I’ve never really used it, I just know that most of the examples don’t run at all and performance is pretty ordinary. At the start the big attraction of JavaFX was automatic binding. That’s pretty cool but why couldn’t they just add that to java instead of making a whole new language for it?
wrong time to ask…
weird options…
…the poll is useless.
anyway I though javafx got it’s power from the ability to bind everything to everything and that, that; actually works.
also javafx setup allows one to add licensed and patterned stuff to platform.
Brilliant idea, poor implementation.
I tried the FX demos on two machines, both low-end admittedly but they threw loads of security/firewall alerts then either failed to run or ran very slowly. How much confidence can I have in something I can’t actually use?
‘Too far, too fast’ is my opinion: maybe in a few years time when us users’ machines catch up…
