Java Games Community Town Hall at JavaOne

We’re in the process of planning for JavaOne, and have been thinking of hosting a Town Hall meeting for the Java Games Community. In addition to a show of hands, we’re looking for people willing to share what they’re working on in person. If you’re interested, please let me know.

If there’s anything else you’d like to see at the town hall please reply to this topic with your suggestions.

Must it be games related? If not, then we can showcase a lot of the higher-end visualisation work that we’ve been doing with JOGL - particularly now that we have swapbuffer support (and soon hopefully multihead display capabilities working properly).

If only :frowning:

Kev

A java games demo showcase would be nice.

My dream would be 3 machines Windows-Mac-Linux all running a FlyingGuns multiplayer match all the day  (with my ‘for-hire-CV’ aside :-[ )

If someone pays for me to get from the UK to there I would love too.

I’ll be at JavaOne, presenting BOF-1700: “Implementing Multi-Player MIDP 2.0 Games using Bluetooth”. But mostly Ill be there to learn, and to get inspiration for what to do next.

I’d come to the Town Hall meeting, if it didn’t clash with something even more urgent (at JavaOne, everything clashes with something).

Me too  I’ll even throw in a roundtable discussion and a seminar for free! :stuck_out_tongue:

Cas

I’d attend if I could get a pass in, my boss isnt going for it

If someone gave me a free pass I’d definitely go
I’d love to watch Cas’s seminar… :-/ (esp. because it’s free)

I’ll be presenting my real time audio technology, Scream, at BOF 2122… Beyond the music tools for spatialization that I have created I will be premiering a 3D game demo using Scream for real time audio. My gear setup will be a little intense for the BOF, but I’d be glad to setup a mini system elsewhere if there is a JGC area.

I’d like to be there… but I haven’t got enough money :stuck_out_tongue:
Maybe next year, when my current project will be finished (it’s pretty advanced…) !
