James Gosling leaves Oracle

sad to see the big man go.

What would be really interesting is to find out why he left? maybe they scrapped the Java Store project he was working on? maybe he didn’t get along with the new oracle management? guess we’ll never know due to the situations like this always being covered by some sorts of cooperate NDA’s and stuff.

Whats surprising about this is that he had previously given off the impression that he was happy under the new takeover.

Again sad to see what’s left of Sun loose so many of their good programmers and engineers.

On the bright side maybe all the new blood replacing the people leaving will give java a fresh perspective and help it move into a better direction.

ouch… its hurt

jaw… floor… thud. :’(

The rats are leaving the sinking ship!?

@kapta & new blood:
New blood is good, but does not need to be a good thing.
We always had ‘new blood’ coming to Java from other languages and the only thing we heard from them is ‘this feature is missing’. ‘why must I write this complicated code when [zxy] will be less code and WAY more cooler’ or ‘where are my pointers’?

Plus new people tend to want to redesign the wheel.
If I wanted C# or Python or whatever, I would be using that language!

hmm, looks like Oracle is suing Mr Gosling and has let the lawyers loose on him

not necessary suing. Its normal to have an lawyer in his position/situation. You want to get the most out of it etc…
