Because of my terrible English , i rarely posted anything before. But here’s something ,i really need to say.
1,Java cache viwer.
Java provides the mechanism to save the java ws and java applet i have ran before on my computer ,and i can even create shortcut for them ,which is nice. But it’s hard to find the java cache viewer. There’s the tip in the java tutorial:
"
To open the Java Cache Viewer:
Open the Control Panel.
Double click on the Java icon. The Java Control Panel opens.
Select the General tab.
Click View. The Java Cache Viewer opens. "
Without tips above, although i did know that the java cache viewer exists, it took me several minutes to figure out where the java cache viewer is.It’s nearlly impossible for my mom to find it,although she really likes little games.
I think it should be asked if they want to create a shortcut for the java cache viewer, when users update/install java, and give the java cache viewer a more user-frindly name like java application viewer or java game manager : P .Maybe add some new function to it as well, such as a favorite game/application list, and a easier way to share game with friends(There’s a game named spiderball, i really like it.So i created a shortcut for it on my desktop, then i found i can’t share it with my friend unless i remembered the jnlp file path.Actually even my friend get the games url, the server may not be running,it will be nice if i can just copy the game to my friend since the game can be played offline.)
2,the web start issue.
Everytime i clicked a link to a jnlp file, the browser tried to download the jnlp file.Java somehow close the download dialog immediately which is nice. But a lot people here have download tools on their computers, when they click the link, sometimes there will be a huge download dialog asking them which directory the jnlp should be download to,and java can’t close that. This makes people confused.
Ok,that’s all i want to say.I guess my terrible english made the suggestions kind of unreadable,i’m sorry for that~
