Is the gaming requirement of Windows Vista and Windows 7 the same or different. I mean is it higher or lower? Is the gaming requirements of Windows 7 higher than Xp. Which version of Windows is best for gaming Windows Xp or Windows 7?

Windows XP uses (waay) less resources, but Windows 7 is more modern.

If you’ve got an old computer, use XP.

First, just skip Vista. Windows 7 is very much the same internally, but better. Everything on top is vastly superior.

Tast scheduling for multi-core system is vastly superior in Vista (and so Windows 7 too) over XP. They also significantly changed the graphics stack, which made it a little slower (although this is probably pretty minor now) but far more stable. I don’t know if it’s related but Dark Messiah used to crash for me as much as once an hour on XP with popups about DirectX errors, yet never crashed once on Vista. However OpenGL support on Intel graphics chipsets for Vista (and so Windows 7) is notoriously bad.

If you have a single core system with an intel chipset, then use XP. Otherwise use Windows 7.

Finally if your interested in using the version of Windows that does the least (and so uses the least amount of resources) then dig out a copy of Windows 95, or a copy of XP embedded (and add the bits you need). That will give you the most performant setup but the gains will be quite minor.

I upgraded to W7 at home 3 months ago. I don’t regret it. I like it very much.

The windows explorer is a bit, irritating.

I play a 10 yearold game, used to play on XP but it was buggy. It plays VERY smoothly on W7.
