Is it possible to submit a GPL'ed application on the App Store?

Hi!

MobileVLC has been removed from the App Store. For me, it is not clear, I don’t really know if applications under GPL are allowed on the App Store. Do you know if it is allowed?

By reading the comments http://www.engadget.com/2011/01/08/apple-pulls-vlc-from-the-itunes-store/, people as saying “The App Store places additional restrictions on the end user that are incompatible with the GPL”.

Rofl. Apple with their censorship and puppeteering is just hilarious ;D

Anybody know what the actual restrictions could be? I can’t see how GPL code could possibly be incompatible with the App Store.

Cas

VLC was pulled from the Apple App Store but it is not yet officially confirmed that this was due to the GPL, only speculation at this time. Other theories include that it was removed due to possible patent infringement in the codecs used by VLC.

Haha, stupid Apple!

Ok then I should not waste any time with IOS.
