is it possible to make the forum mutil-languaged

some of my friends are interested in this community but, unfortunately, their english is even worse than that of mine :-\

your english is not that bad  I actually think its pretty good

Easy - just write in any language you want to. There are quite a few French speakers on the board and sometimes they post in French and actually I wish they’d post a bit more so I can learn a bit more French  Sadly I know hardly a word of any other languages though :frowning:

Cas

Yes, your english is good, don’t be so hard on yourself.
And If anyone want to write in Croatian, here I am ;D
To be more serious, I can understand slavenian languages pretty well.

Ni hao ma?

Your English is better than my Mandarin. I have learned a few words, but don’t practice enough.

Wo hen hao, ni ne?

(I need practice too  )

I haven’t heard “ni ne?” before, but think it means “and you” so…

Hen hao.

“and you?” is correct.

The response is typically “Wo ye hen hao.” (“I am also very well”)

If only I could test my pronunciation online

too bad I’m too afraid to call someone elses mother a horse or something  I’ll stick to japanese for the moment… at least that language has only -one- pronounciation height. 谢谢 !

Coooll!! Greetings Shenzhen!!

Wo ye shou Hanyu Yidiandian… Wo shi liuxuesheng cai ShangHai JiaoTong DaXue. Xin Nian Kuaile!!

Well, but all my comp sci courses are in English… I would be totally lost otherwise.

Are you a student as well? I take it you are a graduate student?

Please tell your friends to join! We all could practise our Fayin and Yufa

I noticed that many Chinese are very hard on themself although their English is quite good. I am sure they will do just fine! Besides, everybody is tolerating my English too

Je n’ai jamais vu quelq’un poster en français sur ce forum… ;D

(If you can’t understand that, just find an online traduction service…)

Iknowitiknowit!

Even without Babelfish! You said:

“I have never seen anybody posting in French in this forum”, right? ;D

Now me: non, c’est pas vrai! Tu as ecrit quelque chose en francaise! Justemente! N’est pas?

Johannes

Ajde dečki malo pričajte i na hrvatskom tak da vas i ja skužim!

Ich hab auch noch niemanden auf Deutsch posten gesehen und ich weiß, dass etliche aus Deutschland kommen - naja, die meisten können wohl doch Englisch

now i know why the babel tower fell :stuck_out_tongue:

Corrected sentence : “Non, c’est pas vrai ! Tu as écrit quelque-chose en français ! (I didnt understand what you did mean by Justemente…). N’est-ce pas ?”

God bless you.

Ich kann Deutsch sprechen, aber sehr schlecht.

-------------------- Now something serious ------------------------
The true problem with making a multi-languaged forum is the interface should be translated for each user, and that’s not easy. (I know it’s possible with SMF, but even with that the english, french, german, russian, spanish, italian… subjects would be all messed up).

Thanks! But it was not so bad, wasn’t it? With ‘justemente’ I tried to say something like “just right now you did”…

Hey! Your sentence is correct! Including the capitalization that drives some many non-Germans insane.

Yeah, I agree… it is hard enough sometimes to get an answer on a subject even in English (and without too many misspellings). However, I know from some (German) friends that they find it to … stressful to write on this English forum although they would love to contribute. I can imagine that there are more people like my friends and the ones of our Chinese friend above…

Btw, does anyone know a nice German Java Gaming Forum?

;D.
Cmon, guys, I am Croatian and I managed to learn English. Why wouldn’t someone try to learn Croatian? It’s not that difficult. And you will have something to brag about when you drink your beer…

you’d re-arrange the words as “wo ye shuo yi dian dian han yu”
:oit’s so amazing that the earth is as small as the cyberspace because i graduated from SJTU 2 years ago.
xin nian kuai le 2 u, too.

Hey, wow! That’s a coincidence! I guess all good computer science people in China went to SJTU. And they keep kicking butts in the ACM Awards. Just last term they made it happen again (it was last term, right? I lost my feeling for time). Lately, We had one of the ACM winners in a course… he’s a nice guy!

What are you doing now? Working? PhD?
