Incredibuilder dev blog

Hi,

I’m wondering if anyone would be interested to read a dev blog about Incredibuilder? Just want to know if it’s worth doing it.

Thanks

No reply? Should I understand it as a negative response?

Well, I wouldn’t but I’m not so much into the whole blog thing unless it’s for a game I actively play

I would probably read it…

Have you already been keeping one though? if not then I dont recommend it. because then it will just eat away at the time you have for coding.

The blog I have report the incredibuilder releases. About the time it shouldn’t be an issue because the blogs won’t be too long to write.

The content I expect to write:

  • concepts
  • level ideas
  • new tools
  • new graphics

If Larry Page would have asked if anybody was interested in him writing writing a new search engine, I bet it would have been quite quiet too.

What I mean is: if you feel like it, do it, if you don’t, don’t. If you feel like it and people find it interesting, increase your effort.

yeah, that’s good way of approaching the question.

Thanks

You should write blogs.

ok, thanks for the link.

Skimmed the article. I’m still not convinced that I should blog. Seems like a timesink.

I’m 200% convinced! I haven’t read a so useful article in a long time before. Thanks a lot Orangy Tang!

I’ve never seen blogging as a tool for the writer, and especially for a game developer. That’s so true that when you start explaining a problem for instance to someone that you start understanding something else or solving the issue. Also blogging is a way of documenting you ideas, coupled with a good search engine. Now I no longer really care having readers.

ehh, I have blogged before, it was nice to get my ideas and such on to paper(or computer ;)) and jsut see how they looked.

however, despite that I was always feeling that nag that I could be programming instead :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, I tend to feel the same but you know what? I’m starting seeing people searching for my blogs via google in my site stats. This tells me that blogging can generate some sort of traffic, which is a good thing.

so you started the blog?

what is the link?

Yes, and no. I always blogged in some way about Incredibuilder but it was only about released versions of the game as far as I remember. The dev blog I’m referring to in this thread is about Incredibuilder, which include gameplay ideas and progress. What is also new is the fact that I now blog about other topics like games and technology I want to recommend or I experienced.
