Improvements

Hi there,

Ok, there are some things that might be helpfull to ppl if you add them.

At first, the source is accessable via cvs, but i don’t find the server, user and pass to use if i go to the ‘version control’. All i got is a view to a dir in the cvs and the possibility to browse. Not very handy if you want the complete source.

Then there are faqs in the lower left corner. OK, i want help to check the files out. But all i got is a help how i have to use my cvs client… as thats really what i wanted to know. Hugh!

Next point. If i want to use the library, it might be helpfull on debugging to add the javadoc and the source. But there is no jar or zip to download the source… only binarys, demos, native-files, etc…

Ok, but the Javadoc is there. Not very usefull to use a tgz instead of a zip, as the latter is the most commenly used archive format and the only one supported by eclipse to add the javadoc as an archive. Doesn’t matter, most ppl know to repack that.

As thats the point i’m know. Trying to start and getting a little bit frustrated. I hope with my comments ppl after me can be saved from some of the points… and know back to searching for the cvs login data…

Greets,
Martin

Hiho,

i’m back. It took me a little to figure out that this page forces its user to register itself to even know how to access the cvs.

Ok, out there. If someone other wants to check the source out, then this one should use the following:
Check out source code with a CVS client. For example:

 cvs -d :pserver:guest@cvs.dev.java.net:/cvs login

followed by

 cvs -d :pserver:guestcvs.dev.java.net:/cvs checkout jogl

WinCvs client setup and checkout instructions
I can’t think of an advantage other than that one of the creative inventers of this page can go to his boss and say ‘we have this and that many registered users, aren’t we great?’…

But ok, since the guys behind jogl are not the ones behind this nonsence i stop being angry at the one who came up with this and start looking at the source i wanted from the start.

Greets again,
Martin
