It helps to provide more information about the game, some might want to play it and not just vote!

;D

Sure, that’s why I linked to the site where you can download and play it

Here’s information about the development: http://www.jmonkeyengine.com/jmeforum/index.php?topic=10977.0 (but download links in those post no longer work)

Game Description:

A fast-paced action filled strategy game where you as commander in chief should build a base to defend the last green park in the empire. The enemies will do all they can to breach your defence. Waves after waves of enemies will be thrown upon your walls. Will they last?

You start the game with a green park and some gold. With the gold you should build a defense around the green park to defend it from monsters. The monsters will arrive at certain times in waves. By killing monsters, you get more gold to build further on your defense. Buildings can be upgraded for increased strength, range and shot speed.

In Imperii you will meet 6 different kinds of monsters, and they all require special strategies to defeat. To defend, you can build 7 different kinds of turrets, from simple laser cannons to nova explosion triggers. You can also build barricades to force monsters walking into your defence. And energy cells to boost turrets.

The difficulty in the game is to balance between different buildings, maze size and upgrades. There is no wrong way to build the defense, as long as it works!

Imperii is programmed in Java and uses shaders, pathfinding, xml-scripting, bloom and more. It runs on Windows, Mac and Linux! And can use both 32- and 64-bit architectures.

Maybe you have a problem;
Applet: ‘Your java is too old - click to update’.
Sun says: ‘You have the recommended Java installed (1.6.0_14).’
Something’s wrong somewhere…

Killed my browser.
Killed my browser again (after a fresh reboot).
No console output, nothing was responding.
update 14, vista, FF

Ah, sorry, you shouldn’t visit www.gamerendering.com/imperii. Since that’s not implemented yet…
Currently only the download works: http://www.fz.se/filer/archive.php?id=8906

I will change that site so no-one can run the applet. (since the applet is not finished or part of the competition)

I have changed the website to a website without applet and only download now.
