I have a question about OpenGL + Joystick supports.

Hello!

Im currently on JOGL or LWJGL, not yet desided, im building few games.
My question is about download file sizes.

How difficult it is to build your very own class for OpenGL + Joystick.
I want my games to run with both Windows and Linux.

The download of LWJGL is about 830k with Linux and about 1M with Windows.

How difficult it is to build a stript version of LWJGL to own use.
If i only add Joystick and simple Texture classes.

what is the smallest download size i can build with c++ to java library ??

what c++ libraryes i need to use ?? is the SDL the best for WIN+LIN.

Thanks,

If you’re really worried about size you can get the files needed for LWJGL on windows down to about 500k by stripping out OpenAL, GLU and the GL extensions and is trivial to do. You could probably get that even smaller with better compression like 7zip. I suspect that trying to get that any lower will require a lot of time with very little return.

Ok!

Thank you with OpenAL, it was a huge file on Linux_natives, i removed it and my LZMA file went down by a 50%
also, is it possible with APPLETLOADER to define 64bit natives to different download than 32bit natives ??

i believe that my Linux download size will go somewhat like <350k. This is a lot better than the 800k++ from where i started.
