Good idea lol. Consider it done.
if its tile-based, try doing what i found helps the world a lot, making 3 tile dimensions instead of 2 but only rendering it flatly. in other words, a 3d array of tiles. if you render it correctly, and implement gravity, etc, it works really nicely. I did this in my first game attempt, and got so far as correct-angled water reflections using nothing but awt.
Ya, I like that system but I don’t know if I will have the time to really do it nicely. Right now I ahve a 5 layer system (imap- my ‘information mapping’ which does the base layers,the bottum of a player’s or enemies foot, the ‘low object layer’, the players body, the ‘high object layer’ and the effect layer, drawn in that order…). Its a really good idea and I hope if any 1 takes the project over from me will redo the art like that. (After I am done with it I will give it to the public to mod/ code.

Hey, its me again.
Ok I have the map editor basically done, I just need to get a full tileset of art done and then it will be uploaded to our site at www.SpiritsOfLuna.ca they server is one of my partners home computers so its really slow and stuff, but it is usually on. The first copy will be very ‘beta’ and won’t be fully functional as we do not have any enemy art or AI programming done at this time, so the map maker would only be able to make maps… with nothing on them. Its really nice but kind of confusing to use at the beginning as there are a lot of controls, but I will include a Ream Me for them.

Could you explain why you are using UDP rather than TCP now. How come UDP is faster?
And I’m not sure but UDP doesn’t garentee that it will arrive to the destination?

omg ok to start i just want to say this is going to b a sucky game bcuz (name, the whole staminia thing,and that holding the spell thin will suck) stamina should not (in my opinon) is not a good idea and if ur going to hav it u shouldn’t have to b 100% staima to attack man >:( i have seen better and i haven’t herd anything about wat skills thee will b is there going to b just combat mage and range skills wil there b other skils or is this going to b a figh figh fight kill kill kill game and wat about money??? r u oing to have to save money to buy armor is mony making going to b easy is there going to b money??? ??? ??? ??? i mean u and ur friends need to tell us a bit more
