How to add effects

Hello everyone, long time reader first time poster. So i’ll get right down too it. I’m a newbie and I’ve built… well… something… I’ve included two links, a jar and a apk file. It’s a wip and full of bugs and I know it, but what I’m wondering is, if I’m using Libgdx and its newly revamped 3D API, how would I add effects. I’ve tried particle effects but they don’t seem to work very well on a small scale.
Ideas?

Can you give WAY more information? Do you want to make a particle effect? Is this 3D (please, 2.5d)?

Actually I’m not sure I can. But ill try. The game is full 3D. Obj, g3db models, that sort of thing. No sprites. GL2.0. The perspective is top down, this is why I tried 2D particle effects originally.

Ok, then just render a bunch of little squares! That should make a nice particle effect.
