How stupid could I be?

I’ve forgotten:

  • the registrar
  • the username
  • the email address I supplied
  • the password

for the domain registration of javagamesfactory.org

Whois kindly supplies the first item, and some hacking about the registrars site eventually gave me enough info to work out the third (nb: different from what’s in whois), but I’m still bloody stupid. And the address I used to register has a 24-72 hour delay on forwarding emails (their server is ****ed).

(I had the info saved on a computer that … got it’s HD wiped recently. I couldn’t believe it when I discovered I hadn’t copied off the details, but a full text search found them nowhere on any of my FS’s. Argh!)

Wild West Domains are your Registrar on record, and they are capable of providing help (even if you went through a reseller). I have no idea if they will. http://wildwestdomains.com/support.aspx

Using the whois on GoDaddy.com I see that you registered it using http://fxdomains.com/. If you enter an incorrect username and password on that page, it takes you to a site where you can retrieve your password. I assume this is the email address which does not work properly (tmachine or something?). They have a PDF form which you can fax to them to change your email address, this might be your best option.

Do you control spamspamspam@grexengine.com? If so, after 60 days you will be able to move your domain to another registrar anyway.

Incidently, I am a TUCOWS reseller myself and currently manage (and sponsor) several community domain names (xith/xith3d, odejava, odeed). For community sites, I’m happy to provide domains at either cost price or free depending on the site.

Good luck,

Will.
