house demo

I just finished this demo (well not quite), It is a house with a couple of rooms, This demo features some cool
effects such as the fake glass refraction, and basically everything I have attempted in my previous demos.
I am quite satisfied with this demo, it runs at reasonable speed on most machines. It would be great if you
can provide the frame rates on your machine.

The renederer is basically painter’s method combined with some space partitioning tricks, it is still far from perfect.
As long you (the camera) stay inside the volume bounded by the house, it looks Ok, but once you leave the volume,
some ploygons will start flicking around.

This demo is compiled with java 1.5. to run it simpily double click house.html.

Here is a shot:

Here is a breif fly thorugh of the house i made on youtube:

Controls: “A W S D” for moving the camara, arrow keys for changing the view direction.

Cheers

I don’t know how to open it :(. The link just takes me back to the forums.

impressive

frame rate never seemed to go below 60 ish, except the shower room, where looking at the glass cut it in half. thats on a x2 3800+

Wow, yea, 60-140 fps the entire time, unless I go inside the shower and face towards the door, then it drops to 41. Still pretty good though. Very nice looking for the software rendered performance.

That’s an a 2.16 ghz core duo.

Sorry the link was protected by a technique called hot “hotlink protection”, you have to copy the url to your
address bar then it will work.

Very cool demo. Great frame rate. Almost always over 60 fps. At most, about 90 fps, but around 20 when looking at the shower door.

2GHz AMD 3200+

nVidia GeForce 256MB Video Memory

thanks for the information guys.

I fear that i created too much overhead when rendering that transparent shower door.
I hope I can fix it soon.
