I hope this Java One will bring news as good as you keep hinting at.

If youy get us too pumped up we are just going to be dissappointed. ::slight_smile:

When is JavaOne again? Do we have to wait long?

Ends on my birthday

Hopefully Sun has a good gift for me then ;D

It’s in San Francisco.
It’s the big Java conference.

I hope you’ve got a few thousand extra on hand. JavaOne passes are expensive! :-/

a few thousand? a thousand what? i better hope you don’t mean dollars hehe

i’m spending about $2500 on my lil’ trip so in that case, i don’t

now i see how sun makes money of java

the tickets are ~ $1800

Actually, Sun goes all out for JavaOne. When you pay up, you usually get some sort of new Java Gizmo (Java iButton Ring, Palm Pilot with Java Business Card software, etc.) plus several days that are literally packed with presentations, classes, BOFs, and bad acting from James Gosling. (Sorry James! ;)) Sun actually makes very little money off of the event. I’ve even heard that they often take a loss for it.

I just wish they’d hold it somewhere other than San Francisco. The SF public infrastructure is absolute c***. Every time the JavaOne came around, the city would be so overcrowded that the public transportation would take hours to get anywhere. And you can forget about getting a taxi in SF. They are about as mythical as Santa Clause and an Honest Lawyer.

$1800! jikes!
