help understanding mesh

Hey all,

What exactly is a ‘mesh’? What I want to do is select a surface of my geometry (like a side of a tank or a plane) and draw the surface area like a wireframe of small tetrahedrons.

My friend told me that this wired surface is my mesh. Am I understand this right?

No, a tetrahedron is a 4 sided object like a pyramid. A mesh is made up of polygons (usually triangles) or a curved surface specified by a bezier patch. The polygons are made up of vertices. A vertex is a point in 3d or 2d space. To render a bezier patch it can be converted to polygons, the number of polygons depends on how closely you desire to approximate the curve.
