Has Sun stop supporting Java3D?

Does anyone have any news on Sun’s decision to stop supporting Java3D?

Other than a statement on www.j3d.org saying that Sun fired the last two Java3D developers, I can’t find any news about the subject…

There isn’t any official statement. Sun dropped it silently.

We have not dropped Java 3D. We are still working on the future plans for the technology. Once again, I appologize for the delay in getting complete plans out to the development community, but these things sometimes take much longer than we would like. We have been listening to all the comments here and on java3d-interest

I promise that you will get an official announcement of our plans once they are finalized. Thanks for your patience.

Oh, this kind of IS an official statement?

Of course it is not dropped until Sun says its dropped. But if that takes very long…

Other than a statement on www.j3d.org saying that Sun fired the last two Java3D developers.

Not quite true, actually I’m taking a break and back to school this
Fall (after a year planning). As Java3D v1.3.1 FCS release it is time
to explore other stuff.

Good luck and I’ll be back later !
