Kidding aside, that code was intentionally made as retarded as possible to weed out things that might go wrong. Which in the end, still didn’t help me get anything working.
Java is hardly to blame for that one though.
I have just recently got into “the biz” and one of my collegues had been working with the java/solaris department. He said that to the solaris crew Java was mostly a joke and much hate was brought up, because it was so uncompatible with previous versions.
I know where this board stands so I won’t continue. Other than that I just say that he never said a good word about Java and the only Java lovers were the ones who were developing it. He was the one who pointed me to this article.
