Hands On Lab LAB-7210: Hands-on with Project Darkstar: The JavaOne Conference

Hi Jeff,

I just signed up for JavaOne and found that this session is full. I waited until recently to sign up because my work has not indicated whether they will help cover any of the expenses, and with 2 weeks to go it is not looking good. I only share this with you because I just paid for the registration out of my pocket, and the single strongest reason I had for doing so was this lab. I was hoping that if I presented a compelling enough sob story you might consider adding a second lab? I would REALLY appreciate it! I am sure there are plenty of others in the same boat, considering it is already filled. Thanks,

Chris

Hi Chris,

I actually offered to do the lab a second time during lab planning, but the time slots are limited and they just didn’t have the room in the schedule :frowning:

I wish this was like college were professors at least controlled some “discretionary seats” in a lecture soI coudl slide you in that way but no dice.

Best I can offer at this time is this:

(1) Definitely come to the Darkstar talk (which IS being given twice.)
(2) I will make all the final lab materials available after JavaOne off the Darkstar site. I can remote-proctor via the message boards and talk you through anything the lab manual doesn’t make clear enough.

Sorry. I wish I had more to offer :frowning:

JK

I checked the schedule builder and I was able to sign up for the lab today. Not sure if you guys added more seats or if someone dropped. Either way I am very excited! ;D

Cool!

I’m glad you’ll be able to join us. My proctor/co-author Dan Templeton has done some really nice polishing of the course materials. I think it’ll be a lot of fun 8)
