Hey Everyone,
This is Guuulp, Tektites first application for android devices… we released Guuulp a couple weeks ago and would love to get some input on it…
It is available on both the android and amazon marketplaces free of charge…

Heres a link to the android market…
https://market.android.com/details?id=cooper.framework&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvb3Blci5mcmFtZXdvcmsiXQ
And the Amazon market
http://www.amazon.com/Tektite-Guuulp/dp/B006SLR4Q8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=mobile-apps&qid=1326316419&sr=1-1

Any and all input, good or bad, is appreciated… If you experience any crashes or glitches please give me as much info as you can (logcat readouts greatly appeciated)… I’ve been made aware that Guuulp currently does not run on the samsung galaxy s2, I will be looking into this, if anybody has a galaxy s2 and can give me a log readout of the crash it could speed the process up…

Also if you enjoy this game, please leave a review on the marketplace, and make a developer smile!!!

Thank you for your time, and enjoy the fruits…
~Cooper

PS. another title is in the works, did someone say zombies?!

Wow I love the graphics and the sound! It reminds me of similar a “eat and grow your fish” type game I played on a really old phone

Overall a very polished feel. I think this deserves to be featured ;D

Looks really good. Well done, good to see some good games being produced ;D

The controls were all backwards on my samsung g-tab 10.1 :frowning:

(To Mads)
What do you mean by backwards controls?
did tilting the tablet make the creature move along the correct axis but in the wrong direction?
or did tilting in one axis make the creature move along another?

Nice game, great use of the accelerometer. The music is good as well, not boring or too repetitive.

Thumbs up for Riven for the QR code (that should be a standard when asking to test a mobile app imbo).

Yes, I meant to say thanks Riven for the qrcode, better late then never I suppose… thank you Riven…

It would be a dream come true if Guuulp got featured… thanks for the good words ra4king, shazer2 an tackman…

I would love to see you guys leave a review in the android marketplace if you could find the time…

Did any of you find it difficult to learn to play?
And what levels did you make it too?

Both! Wrong axis, and direction

Crashes on my phone (HTC WildfireS). After pressing “Start!” it shows a loading screen for a few seconds, then exits without further comment.

LogCat shows an out-of-memory error (well, it’s a cheap phone ::slight_smile: )

At least that’s my reading of the logs. I’ll send you the full thing if it helps. I haven’t tried deciphering LogCat before so apologies if I’m jumping to the wrong conclusion, but it looks like the old story of the game wanting more memory than the device is willing to give.

Sorry not to be able to comment on the game itself.
Simon

Very cool game. Only I got annoyed by two things (I have a Samsung Galaxy S):

  • the framerate drops a lot (almost unplayable) when there are a lot of sprites on the screen
  • the penalty for hitting the green fish in level is very harsh for search an early level.

Did you try changing it to the low graphics setting? the graphics toggle is located in the settings menu in game play (the gear top left, then the button bottom left), all it does is eliminate certain background elements and it tends to make it run smoother… thanks for the info… as for the bitten penalty perhaps I will make some adjustments in the next update…

When designing the game I did not take into account the varying heap sizes across devices, and because of this it has the out of memory error on older devices… I hope to fix this in the near future, thanks for the report…

A really cool game!
I Just downloaded it to my Nexus-S, and had plenty of fun hunting down my prey ;D
Nothing to complaint about. Thanks!

Hey Mads, I just released an update that should fix the backwards controls… Enjoy!
