GTG Update - March 5, 2004

Hey all! Time for our weekly update. As we discussed earlier, all efforts are now focused down on getting the demos up and running for GDC. The details are as follows:

  • Jeff has been working on the server implementation to be shown at GDC. Everything has been progressing smoothly on this side and we really believe that we will have an amazingly kick ass demo

  • Jeff will be flying out to meet with the developer of another of the demos to be shown.

  • I have been finalizing several announcements for the show and working through all of the legal mumbo jumbo to get some stuff done.

  • Doug, AT and I have been working on all of the messaging, partner announcements, papers, presos, etc. for the show. TONS of stuff to do

  • Doug has been working on making sure the mobile and desktop demos are rolling proper, as well as keeping an overall eye on the technology for the booth as well. Doug will be speaking at GDC and is working on that messaging.

  • Demo gear comes in soon and we start moving demos out of the labs and staging them on demo systems.

  • We are putting the finishing touches on the CD pack to be given away at the show. As a side note, we will send out copies of the CD to anyone who wants one (as long as supplies last) after GDC. I will post a message to the site letting everyone know how many copies we have left.

  • I will also be giving a presentation in AMD’s booth on the future of online games and new business models that will emerge.

  • Dan and AT have been really working hard on getting all of the other bits in place. As well, they have been lending support and jumping in overall to get everything finished.

And, we are doing all of this while still doing the rest of our day jobs  We are very excited about the show and can’t wait to get there.

As promised, we are going to be posting pre show data to you. So, here’s the first little bit. The CD we will be distributing at the show will look like this:

Pretty cool for a “Sun” CD eh?

Oh, one more thing, we will be posting all of our materials from the show on Java.Net after GDC.

That’s all for now. Back to work!
