Common sense: #7 is cool!
Maybe I’m just slow… but I just realized that #7 can appear to have a ‘3’ and a ‘D’ in the main “circled X” graphic. The white part in the circle looks like a 3 because of how the ‘X’ cuts bits out of it, the top half of the circle looks like a ‘D’ because of the way the bottom bit is not round because the X is there.
#7 there is looking pretty cool.
Has anything more come back from the graphics forum?

#7 is very good. I had gotten used to #1 since JCD’s been using it a bit - but #7 is more sleek and modern.

The “X” logos look great, but…
Focusing on the X is a bit "Direct X"ish.
The old Direct X logo was a nuclear looking X.
Or the X-box…
Or X-Windows…
Or Mac OS X…
Or the PSX…
Or the X-Prize…
Or *niX…
Or Active-X…
Or… ;D

Which isn’t necessarily bad. It could work to the advantage of Xith 3D to attract programmers familiar with all those other ‘X’-ish things.
Should we already start a poll on the Subj or we will wait a bit more?
I know that designers here in JProof are quite busy right now, so I think [read: know] they will not have time to make more variants.

I would like to bring this topic up again: if nobody is going to suggest new logos, I ask you for preliminary voting - let’s choose, say, 5 logos that should be on the voting list.

We should pick up all the logos, which got more +1 than -1 in this thread (mostly the JProof ones I assume). If anyone feels a good logo is missing, just give a +1 to it.

I’ll +1 for the Java Snake (OT). Although I think the others are brilliant in the classey top end logoness, I think the snake is clean and simple.
