I made my first single grass tile. Enjoy. :point: ;D
Should I continue? Next steps? How would I go about doing stone?

This isn’t really a grass texture. All I see is a bunch of incoherent green dots.
I second this. I think it looks like green Perlin noise.
Looks ok on my tablet.
Maybe fill it with a light green and draw in little patches of grass with a darker green. Then add some slight noise in the background. Otherwise it just looks like noise, which is a bit unappealing to the eye when tiled.
Also: give yourself more pixels to work with. It seems more complex at first, but I promise you won’t regret it. You can fit so much more detail into each tile.
I just chucked your grass texture into my game, it looks beautiful. Heres a screenshot:
EDIT:
YESSS 200 medals!
This thread has not been a waste.
Mine currently looks horrific :’(
I think it is missing hardness. Try bolstering in some lines or something.
It’s kind of old now (about three or four months I’d say) so I think I’ll just redo it entirely whenever I have time :point:
Or we could not worry about it and just let the content flow so long as it’s not a blatant disregard of the rules!
Or we could keep taking about grass :-\
My kind of grass

How about this? Took me 3 minutes to draw (using calligraphy tool) in InkScape.
That’s just a few irregular strokes with mouse, and applied gradient to it, with less opacity on one end.
Does the tile repeat…? It’s no good if it doesn’t haha.
