Graphic tools??

Hallo
I am new to programming and making games.

Right now I am just using paint.net to make the graphic for my games. But I wondering what kind of graphic tools more professional people uses.
So it would be very nice if you guys could mention some tools ;D

I use paint.net as well.

PaintShop Pro or Photoshop CS

Do you have some pics of your work? Course I think that what I have made with paint.net is shit :stuck_out_tongue:

Pixel art is the only thing I can do. If you have time you can do some pretty good pixel art. I get inspiration from www.pixeljoint.com e.g: http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixelart/71043.htm

But mine are of course completely shit compared to most :]

Every pixel art is shit compared to this :o

Yeah, pixel art is almost the only thing you can do with paint.net :stuck_out_tongue: ;D

Jesus Christ, that’s beautiful! How…how do they cram so much detail into so few pixels?

I use GIMP. Oh, and MSPaint.

Pickle + Paint.NET.

Gimp, Paint.net, Gale Graphics, Blender…

Thanks for the all the replies

Hi

I use Gimp 2.8 and KolourPaint (to avoid losing the metadata not supported by Gimp). I use Blender as a modeler.

One tool you may consider using is InkScape (http://inkscape.org/). It’s a vector graphics editor, as opposed to a pixel one like Paint.net or Photoshop. For some graphics, InkScape is much easier to use. Or you can use InkScape together with Paint.net, for example, by making an outline of the graphic you’re trying to make in InkScape, and then do the finishing touch in Paint.net.

Thanks again :D!

I’ve been using PyxelEdit for a week and it’s quite good for making game graphics!

I use GIMP. I feel like nothing more is exactly needed (unless you want to use Paint.NET instead of GIMP), I don’t use PhotoShop but I’m pretty sure that’s for serious editing. As far as I know you don’t need serious editing of pictures with your games, but I’m not sure.
