I am finally thinking of ditching Godaddy for something better and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a good web-host that supports java servlets.
Google AppEngine?
Other than that, why not buy a VPS (virtual private server). They are relatively cheap and you have root access.
I agree with the VPS recommendation. If you don’t mind self-administration, VPS is cheap and the software choices are literally up to you.
I’ve been verry happy with linode (7 months - no complaints). They have several linux images available and they just upgraded the RAM on all of the plans.

Thanks guys,
Will take a look.

I ended up going with MochaHost, but I dropped them a few months later because the performance was horrible. I am trying to port the game to Google AppEngine now but it is a bear of a task due to all the database code rewrites.
I spent the last week evaluating GAE (google app engine) for a B2B project. It has a lot of things going for it. But for our purposes the real killer was: you don’t have ‘fine’ grain control of your urls. Anyone can access your app via the aaaa.appspot.com url, and you can set up your domain name (www.aaaa.com) and wild card domains (.aaaa.com) via cnames via dns and a google apps account tied to the domain. That’s about all you can do. For our app we needed https://.aaaa.com and at the moment you just can’t do it. Https is a planned feature for the Google Apps Business Premium service, but that later this year or next. Plus pricing is an unknown at this point. You might be able to do url rewriting thru a Tomcat (Jetty in this case) Valve, I didn’t look into that.
So depending on your needs, GAE might be ideal. They give you a LOT in the free quotas.
