Game reviews

Gamerankings.com is the best place to read game reviews in my opinion. The problem is that each game site has it’s own rating system and reviews for the same game vary so much that sometimes I wonder if they are worth reading.

Also, I think the game playing experience of the reviewer can affect a lot the result of the review.

What do you think?

usually ask around, or read forum posts, some are descriptive enough to pass as review I gues. that or ask if I can have a crack at it playing someone else’s version.

If you can put up with the noise, neogaf.com

Seems to be a good place. Do you visit it or participate in frequently?

And you Chris, how do you make sure the next game you buy is worth the money?

most good games probably sell themselfs right when they are announced i guess  Take for example, Supreme Commander. It was announced like a year ago and everyone knew right there that its going to be a great game. Usually when you watch the first gameplay vids and screens, you get a pretty good impression of what the game is about. I dont care about a single review too much, because its allways just an opinion. Anyway, a good site for resources on all kinds of games would probably be IGN.com.

I read the reviews from Gamespot and IGN, but always I try the games
before buying them. Also is easier to try console games than PC games.
The only PC games that I have buyed are classics like Starcraft, Warcraft II & III,
Doom I, II & III, Unreal Tournament; there is no problems with those games.

Best website in the world! I am actually addicted to the RSS feed on that place, I need my daily fix ;D

Great site indeed!

Ok, the topic is some weeks old, but…

I usually buy budget titles for 10 to at most 20 Euros. So they are out quite some time then and I usually know enough. You pick up information here and there.

But basically I read a few reviews online and make up an opinion. And I read a monthly games magazine which keeps me up to date. So reviews is my core decisionmaking. Videos, Demos or seeing it somewhere does the rest.

I read Game Informer for Game Reviews. Good Stuff.
