Game Jolt - Achievements in Java

Hey guys,

CROS here from Game Jolt. Just wanted to let everyone know that we’ve launched our achievements system in closed beta. We’re looking for interested devs that would be willing to help us test out the system and what not. The goal is to create the best stinkin’ achievements system out there that works with as many platforms as possible while still being extremely easy to use.

Ashley Gwinnell (a Java dev) has helped us create the Java API for working with the system, so it should be all ready for you Java devs to kick into your games.

Upon access to the closed beta system, you’ll be able to add trophies into your games and you’ll have a say in the development of new features such as high scores and data storage (for save state and level data, etc).

We hope to keep the closed beta period short, so that we can get more devs using it right away.

Here’s some more information on the system, and how to sign up for the closed beta:

Let me know what you guys think.

ahh this is awesome.

can it still work if you are not on gamejolt?

cause if I make a game, it will be on my own site and game jolt so…

Yeah, h3ckboy. It’ll work on any site.

Also, for the high scores, you’ll be able to log your scores as a guest, for if they don’t have an account at Game Jolt.

David

hmm, I might do that…

Since I’m leading the Java development of the API, any questions relating to the API can be discussed here or on the Game Jolt closed beta forums. You can also email me or find me on IRC too.
