Game for kids

Hello everyone, so I decided to share my project in progress with libgdx community.
Simple game for kids (or foreigners) to learn words/spelling. Originally started with Gamvas (HTML5 canvas game engine), now trying to move to android/iPad using LibGDX.

Game mechanics:

Screens (Easy / Normal / Hard):

(sorry for video quality/frame rate my PC is really sh*t with GMA945)

And I started indiegogo campaign if anyone interested in helping out

That looks great. These sort of tools are a good way of engaging people in learning to spell. Very visual with some nice touches.

I’m not sure how I feel about rotated letters, I guess It depends on what you view the aims of the app to. For dyslexic kids that may be confusing, but for others it may be a good challenge.

What are your thoughts on that, and would you consider having it as an option?

I also like how you mention it could be for speakers of other languages, as the app does not have the childish look of many resources, and that’s a good thing! There are others similar resources, but not many that would be appropriate for adults to use.

Rotated letters will be an option, and three other options:

  • Easy - Greyscale letters (screen added), easy something like “math the shape”
  • Normal - (as seen in screens)
[li]Hard - among letter blocks will be “trash” unnecessary letters

OMG! It has a panda!

On the topic of funding for art assets- you might want to post a more finished version to some relatively topical blog? It might be your best chance for getting noticed.

Hmm… I’ll try to find some in a weekend, thanks for suggesting.
Added screens from Easy / Normal / Hard modes.
